Calling all nerds

So, if you didn’t know it before hand, it’s got to be abundantly clear by now.

I’m a nerd. Or a geek. Maybe the right term is technology obsessed.  Whatever the right term is, you get the picture.

Which is why this is a great and fun week for me!  Not only is the proposal that Councilman Don Frantz and I submitted for the Town of Cary Technology Task Force starting to take shape, but this weekend is CityCamp Raleigh.

Let’s be the “Technology Town of NC”…once more

It’s happened at the Town already.  It was just a matter of time.  I’m the “techy” one, so I’m used to it.  Yes, I’m now “technical support.”  I’ve now taught 3 folks (who shall remain nameless) how to use their smartphones. How to turn them on and off, silence them, and how to load apps. (C’mon Verizon and AT&T – show people the basics before you let them leave the store!)  But I digress. Read More…

Techy talk

There are many definitions for the word GEEK – I tend to like the one that has to do with technology.  But it wasn’t always that way.  Growing up, being a girl that liked engineering, science, math and computers wasn’t that common. (Studies show the numbers haven’t increased that much.) 

Technology Geek

Now, though, I am proud of that label. It’s allowed me great opportunities, given me a way to express myself, and I feel comfortable in that skin. Having a “technology bent” has connected me with great folks in the community.  And that’s what happened today.
