+1 on CardStar Lori! That's a good one, I cannot stand these cards (none of them have my actual info associated with them). But this is a great way to carry them around.

I recommend Pic2shop (http://www.pic2shop.com/) - it works like RedLaser, but I like the results from pic2shop better.

Another app that I really love is Google Googles. This app allows for a visual search based on pictures you take. This is especially handy for wine and such, but also for those tourist photos (it will tell you what that building is, for example).

For the UberGeek - Android Only (Sorry Apple fans) - Tasker is an app that allows you to automate your phone -- things like go silent during busy calendar time, mute the phone when facedown or automatically send an SMS when you leave work -- just some of the things Tasker can do.

In reply to Ian Henshaw.

@Ian, good ones. I especially like the best practice, and would like to see all folks use that.

I have RedLaser, but should use it more than I do. Thanks for sharing yours!

Lori -
So cool, CardStar just saved me 3/8" from my 3rd wallet... Maybe I only need 2 now?

QRset - I use this app to scan QR codes. It gives me the URL before I decide to go there. Always follow a best practice...

RedLaser - I use this to scan Bar Codes. A way to see if what I'm looking at is a good price.

Eventbrite - A way to find and register for interesting events in the area.
